In Year 9 we continue to cover the KS3 ICT curricullum but we also have an eye on preparing students to sit their DiDA examination in Year 10.

All students will be expected to demonstrate their skills with databases, and as such we have spent much of this half term developing the students skills.

After TT-week we start a nice test to see how well those skills can be used, and whether the students can use them independently...

The ePortfolio

An important part of ICT at SNHS is the ePortfolio. This is a website that the students make and maintain to showcase the work that they have completed throughout the year.
Only work found in the ePortfolio will be marked so students should make sure they keep it up-to-date.

Preparing for DiDA

At Key Stage 4, students at SNHS will work towards obtaining a Diploma in Digital Applications (equivallent to 4 GCSEs).
Students first work on the AiDA (1 GCSE) then CiDA (2 GCSEs) and if they are able, then they may go on to complete the full DiDA course.
Much of Year 9 is dedicated to making sure students are ready to complete this practical course.
